“COMPETENCY AUDITS”

What is a competency audit? What purpose does it serve? Are these the new industry buzz words? These are pertinent questions. When it comes to how this is related to crane operators and worksite safety in the lifting equipment industries across Canada. Currently there is little information in all jurisdictional OH&S Regulations or standards. Pertaining to the quality, consistency and maintaining of training for all crane operators of lifting equipment. As a result there are significant accidents, injuries and fatalities that in the majority of cases were preventable. Would your crane operators and supervisors meet compliance requirements of a “Competency Audit”?
